Aftercare for new Tattoos
1. Leave the bandage on for 2-5 hours. Do not leave it on any longer than that. Do not rebandage the tattoo. Do not allow anyone else to touch it. Clean your hand before touching it too.
2. Wash the tattoo with mild soap and water. Gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel or paper towel. It is ok to bath (keep the tattoo clean prevents infections), but do no soak in bath tubs.
3. Apply antiseptic cream sparingly (just a thin layer will do). Rub it in lightly and then wipe off any excess. The healing skin must be able to breath.
4. Continue to wash the tattoo and apply the antiseptic cream twice a day for first 3 day. Switch to moisturizing cream thereafter. This will prevent the scabs breaking or falls off prematurely.
5. Never pick or scratch at the tattoo, no matter how itchy it gets. If it get unbearable, just slap it lightly. Picking of scab will damage the tattoo and sometime even touch-ups can not repair the damages!
6. Do not get any direct sunlight on the tattoo for a period of two weeks or until it is healed completely.
7. Do not swim for at least 2 weeks after you have had your new tattoo. Soaking the skin may damage it.
8. If you do not follow the care directions properly the healing time may be extended and possible damage may occur.
