Beacon for lost traveller

Having sailed in the vast endless Cybersea for weeks, Christopher was vexed by the far horizon of the Cyber-ocean that greeted him in the morning. Over at the bow, the ship's crews (a.k.a ISPs) were disappointed and they turned to Christopher to question him:

"We trusted you, but there was no land to be seen from here. You said we hit shore this morning... where's the land? You better give us a good explanation." the irrated sailors demanded and moved towards him threateningly.

Christopher thought he had reached the end of his Cyber-surfing career. He was diligent and had charted his way in this Cybersea for the promised land. He employed his navigational skill, read the most updated periodicals but still he had ended up surfing the Cybersea aimlessly.

Suddenly, Christopher noticed a small beacon bobbing up and down slowly in the middle of the sea, a sign of hope under the azure sky that had been cloudless for weeks. The same cloudless sky with the intense sun that fried the men until they grew restless and thirsty and homesick too.

"Look over there, my," Christopher tried to delay for more time as he pointed in the direction of the small beacon, "If you place your worthy trust in me again and pick up that beacon over there, I could find my way to Land."

The men edged closer, obviously not willing to place trust on him again. Their weapons were ready to slaughter him. (Actually, the ISPs were ready to squeeze him dry by charging him for the time he surf the Net, aimlessly)

"I will walk the plank if the beacon fails to bring us to Land." Christopher wagered.

Half an hour later, the beacon was fished up and Christopher studied the object closely. He found a note and perused it:

In this vast Cybersea, one could easily surf the Net aimlessly. However, since you have stumbled upon this beacon, you are saved, Lost Traveller. This note contained worthy sites categorised into subjects for easy finding of interested CyberLand.

Use this Beacon wisely. And consult it should any question arise.

The sun rise was beautiful.

In the distant horizon, the sails were up on Christopher's ship as it made its way to another legendary Land.

On the deck, Christopher had resumed command of the ship. The men had regained their trust in him. Christopher had decided to set sail again to gain more experience but at the sme time, he had learned a lot from the Beacon.

As usual, he penned in his diary what he had mastered, seen and felt in this journey:

As the sun climbed higher, the ship grew smaller and smaller. Suddenly, something was thrown out of the ship into the ocean. Something that went bobbing up and down...
