Professional courses

If you're ready to become a PADI professional, we can help!

Divemaster
This is the first of the professional courses. Divemaster denotes a diver with a high level of personal diving skill and Instructor-level knowledge of diving theory, who has been trained to assist an Instructor during training sessions and is able to assume responsibility for the welfare of other divers.

There is a Divemaster manual to read together with 'The Encyclopaedia of Diving' and a workbook to complete. There are exams on all the topics covered. Candidates must assist during Open Water courses (five nights of demonstrating skills, helping set up equipment, helping students with skills and so on) and participate in Open Water training in the sea as well as guide certified divers in the sea. There is also a watermanship assessment which can be quite demanding. The course can be done intensively but is normally completed in two to three months.

Students are expected to own their own full set of diving equipment (not including weight belt, weights and tanks, of course!) and be willing to learn about boat handling and tank filling.

Assistant Instructor (AI) and Instructor
If you really feel that you would like to become a PADI Instructor or Assistant Instructor, please e-mail or call and speak personally to Jason. You can be certain that you will get all the information you require to make the correct decision about where to do the course and whom to do it with.

You could teach people to dive...
