Trying to make exercise a regular routine, in essence, is no
different from doing normal activities like watching TV, sleeping and eating. So why is it
so difficult for you to start? It really is not about time, if you think about it. We have
one (two actually) explanation for this: you are not prioritizing it and it does take
effort.
To help you, I guess the first thing I should do is to
REINFORCE your knowledge about just about how important exercise is. Let's use your teeth
as an analogy to help in your understanding.
Question: What do you do to maintain your teeth?
- You visit your dentist on regular basis;
- You brush your teeth everyday;
- You floss them (hopefully);
- You probably use mouth wash as well (not sure if it helps
though); and
- And if your teeth are misaligned, you go see a orthodontist to
fix them (incidentally, I know of a good one, he is my friend, Dr Henry Ho of Atria Pan
Dental Group at Paragon Here's his link: http://www.atria-pan.com/doctors_details.htm#henry_ho
)
All these require conscious effort and time too but why do
you still do them? I guess you want to maintain basic oral hygiene, prevent tooth decay
and, making it look sparkling clean and beautiful. You know very well if you don't do the
necessities, you can picture this happening: toothaches, a missing tooth or more, stained
for the rest and bad breadth to complete.
Similarly, do you want a body like this: one that falls sick
easily; gives you aches and pain; weak and restless; a heart that may stop any moment; a
bone that may fracture with a minor fall; painful joints; rotting limbs; and defective
organs? If not, why are you not taking the best preventive measures: regular exercise and
eating properly?
So, if you care for your body just like your nice set of
teeth, please do yourself a favor, start now before its too late.
