Ba da chu park


Badachu park is located to the west of Beijing city. A fairly large, nicely landscaped park set on the slopes of a hill. Within the park is this tall pagoda.

Tian tan

Tian tan literally translated is "altar for the heavens". In ancent times, it is said that the emperor would come here annually to pray for good harvest and relieve from disasters.

Tian An Men.

A couple of shots taken around Tiananmen square at night. "Men" in chinese is a door. In ancient Beijing surrounded by walls, the south entrance is known as "Tian An Men(door)". In the last photo, the sign reads: Long live the peoples republic of China (left), Long live a united world's nations(right).

Yu he Yuan (Summer Palace)

Yu he yuan (also known as the Summer Palace) is located to the north west corner of Beijing city. In this scenic garden is a huge man-made lake, hill and an island. It is known to be the largest imperial garden in the world. Among the features is a long corridor with elaborate beautiful paintings on each of the wooden beams along the run of the corridor.

Located some 30-50km into the outskirts of Beijing city, is the famous Badaling Great Wall
