The
Rabbit smells Danger!
(The outlook for 2011, the Year of the Wooden
Rabbit)
Posted on: 26th January 2011
Master Ong is no ordinary fengshui master.
Despite his prediction being always contrary to others, he had been
amazingly accurate over the last decade. Some of his past year predictions
were published in the business section of the ‘TODAY” newspaper and
still available in his website for public scrutiny.
Last year was another occasion that took the
public by surprise. Many who had termed 2010 as ‘Metal Tiger’ or
‘White Tiger’ which denotes bad lucks were pessimistic in their
outlooks. A search on the internet revealed that Master Ong was the only
geomancer that claimed the tiger of last year actually belongs to the
‘wood element’ and the economy will emerge strong by the end of 2010.
Singapore GDP was a double digits growth and the equity index culminated
above 3200 points.
Many countries across the globe had faced their
worst flooding among the last few decades during the year of the tiger,
which was correctly mentioned by Master Ong. However, he prefers to keep
silent on the name of the two types of instruments that were being used
and called them his ‘secret weapons’.
Q:
Master Ong, what does the I-Ching Hexagram has to inform us for next year?
With the car COE rising above $70,000 for the larger model, are these
signs of confidence in the local economy? Will the buoyant economy last
and continue into next year as many felt so?
We have to be extraordinary careful. The rabbit
of coming year smells danger and is hiding inside its burrow. The year of
the rabbit hints that there are lurking dangers ahead and the controlling
hexagram of the I-Ching for next year reveal a clearer picture that things
are ‘splitting apart’ or ‘decoupling’.
Thus, my prediction is once again contradictory
to the general perception of a mild and auspicious rabbit. There will be
lesser natural disaster compared to last year. However the financial
market can be volatile to investors especially after the first half of the
year.
If we were to continue our casino theory of last
year, I mentioned that “’pollination’
or ‘germination’ process is only moving into its final phase, which
means that we can expect the year to be progressive and the cycle to be
completed, probably by the end of the year.”
Thus, the end of 2010 was ‘harvesting period’
that ended strongly and we are actually at the pinnacle of ‘coming
together’. But the harvest period will expire before the end of next
year and things may start falling.
Q:
Then when is the danger period to watch out?
The fruitful harvesting time that we are enjoying
now is not going to last throughout the year of the rabbit. Be cautious
when summer set in and look out for indicators that point to serious
breakdown that may affect world economy.
Q:
How does that interpret for the stocks market?
At 3200 - 3300 point, equity index is around one
of the highest for local stock market. The golden rule of thumb is to buy
low and sell high, is not the answer obvious enough for you? Bankers are
starting to lures their customers into European products which have a
potential for wider growth compared to Asian products. On the contrary,
‘splitting apart’ hexagram of the I-Ching advises us
otherwise.

TOKYO — TOKYO — Japan declared states of emergency for five nuclear
reactors at two power plants after the units lost cooling ability in the
aftermath of Friday's powerful earthquake. Thousands of residents were
evacuated as workers struggled to get the reactors under control to
prevent meltdowns.
The ‘I-Ching’ is a Chinese predictive art
dated 5,000 years ago and is still amazing relevant today. On the extreme,
‘Splitting apart’ spells the danger of ‘nuclear accident or
disaster’. From worldly perspective the ‘sovereign debt’ crisis of
the European nations heighten the atmospheric tension of ‘decoupling’
warns by the I-Ching’s hexagram.
Despite that world economist and politicians meet
at the World Economic Forum at Davos in the beginning of the year to
address the issues. It is very complex for people to understand and guess
the outcomes. What ever happens, it still provides an opportunity for
general speculators and investors alike. My advice is not to be greedy,
sit on cash and wait for opportunities, which is not too far away.

Q:
You were also pretty correct about the performance of the property market.
In Singapore, the government had implement curbing measures twice during
last year to cool the market. Do you think the property market is still a
good investment?
These measures have a short cooling effect, but
Singapore government is capable of regulating the market movement as and
when, to push up or to bring it down. In short your property investment is
kind of being protected with steady returns here. Unless, America and
European countries can get out of the fire soonest, otherwise Singapore is
still one of the safest places on earth to park their surplus money. These
property measures are not meant to curb speculators alone which are
actually minimal as reported in the newspaper. Think broadly, it is to
prevent a property bubbles that is good for everyone. Finally, it will
instill confidence and invite many more real investors into our secure
country and stable property market.
