Marriages & Offsprings

Marriages and Offspring in the year of the Tiger

Is it true that marriages solemnise in the Year of the Tiger have a higher rate of failure? Or offspring born in a Tiger year will turn out to be particularly naughty?

Traditionally, these beliefs have been held to be true. But please allow me to dispose some advice on traditional beliefs. I would like to say that such traditional thinking might not be applicable in our modern society. Instead of following tradition blindly, I would like to urge all to learn and digest the old and then apply them pragmatically.

The 12 animals in the zodiac are indications of time by year and it is certainly wrong to blindly label a particular years as bad just because that year is associated with a certain animal. Let me explain further.

There are three major elements involved in the choice of an auspicious date to time. The elements are : Heaven (Time), Man (actions) and Earth (space). Relatively speaking, the elements coexist and the values of Heaven and Earth are constructed after Man.

The analysis of whether a particular year to be good or bad for any individual does not depend on the animal in which the year is associate with. The analysis is done based on the individual's own animal in the zodiac.

There would be wasted opportunities indeed if such false beliefs were to be practised. The individual would then be falsely restricted from making important decisions or undertake important tasks.

The Singapore Straits Times reported on the 18/12/2001.....

"Koreans Delay Having Babies in the Year of the Horse.
They want to avoid having baby girl in the coming year because many believe it is not a fortuitous sign for female."

Master Ong: Such beliefs are pure superstition! and baseless!
